Anyone growing amaranth?

last modified: 10 years ago

I had one plant last year which I purchased from Annies Annuals. It didnt grow more than 2 feet in a pot last year, but it did produce a few seeds, apparently.

I had a few volunteers, one of which I transplanted to my front yard bed. It is now a massive seven foot tall plant with lots of red flower heads. I am definitely going to grow this again next year.

It grows fast, looks awesome and both the seeds and leaves are edible. Whats not to like?

Amaranth hopi red dye
