I live further north in zone 7a, Northern VA, so I have no experience in your area. Mine get maybe 2/3 day sun and shade from mid-afternoon on. They seem to do OK. You might be OK as long as you can keep them well mulched and watered. Otherwise you might see some burn. Hopefully others from your area will weigh in.

I usually see more burn from cold winds and winter sun than summer sun. But I'm colder than you.

Thanks Dave. I'm going to give them a shot in sun and see how they do. A trusted nursery near me said they should do fine, they keep all their Encore's in full sun at the nursery, they have a ton too and all look great.

I am in 7B in NY, my encore in full sun gets winter burn, and summer burn. It doesn't stop it from growing though, I just snip the unsightly burned leafs.

I lived about an hour SE of Raleigh and planted Autumn Angel Encores on the south side of my house and they have been great. I think they probably took more water than they would have otherwise and I kept them well mulched. Good luck.
