Most spring bulbs do well in containers not just snowdrops. However snowdrops are not always successful from the dried bulbs you find in stores. They are more reliable if you can find some growing plants. And bees at not particularly drawn to them any more than, say, crocuses. It's just that they provide very early forage.

Good to know that the snowdrops can be grown successfully in containers. The person I'll be purchasing from normally sends live plants so no worries about dried bulbs. My main reason for selecting snowdrops is the fact that they don't need
as much light and can be grown in some shade. The place where the outdoor container will be placed is
in partial shade.

Crocuses are a great idea. Thanks for the suggestion. I had forgotten about them, even though I grew up with them in my yard.

Crocuses need sun to open fully.
