My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Layout & Design - Family Room

Hi All,

This room has been driving me nuts to the point where I've got some analysis paralysis about it. This is our family room and I'm hoping to completely re-do it. The TV has been my big issue ... I've considered doing a built-in with a reticulating/swivel base for the TV and I've also considered a corner type unit for it but because we have the half wall (can't move that as it's attached to a load bearing column) I'm afraid it's all going to look a little weird just coming to a stop. I also can't seem to envision any other furniture arrangement. I'm so tired of our sectional (it's got 9 years of kid gunk on it) and the loose back cushions are the bane of my existence. (They always look so sloppy and worn out.) An associated issue is all the video game debris that constantly litters my family room. Must. Have. Space. To. Hide. That. Crap. I am open to any suggestions (other than TV over the fireplace ... not a fan of that at all.) We don't have high ceilings (8 footers) and the room measures about 19'8"x14'2".

I am open to all suggestions regarding furniture, layout, color scheme (not a fan of the grey trend ... definitely a color person), drapes, etc.
