Shower head in stall

We just bought a renovated home. The master bathroom has a stall shower where the shower head points in the direction of the shower's opening. On my first morning at the house, I took a shower using a standard shower curtain and hosed down the floor! (Granted, the shower head was set to "stream"!). I can't put in a door because it would be in the way of the sink and I don't really want one anyway. I'm assuming that we'll need to move the head to the sink-side wall. Is this a difficult task? or is there just a different kind of shower curtain that I should be using?!

Unscrew showerhead. Attach a handheld head with long cablehose. Attach to the correct wall et voila...

In order to change the position of the head you will need to replace the shower, that jead placement makes no sense

you can find a PLUMBER and have them reroute youre head to a side wall.

Hopefully the head now is not an exterior wall( back to Patricia's point) and of course there needs to be room in the cavitys. You may lose a bit of pressure depending on the path and length particulars of the run or pex vs copper. you will incur drywall minor caprentry and plumbing painting expenses.

This definitely falls into the "what were they thinking?" category of home "improvements". Agree get a plumber in there and see what your options are.

Thank you! "What were they thinking?" is spot on. I will get a plumber to take a look and see what can be done. I thought I was just missing something! I guess that's what you get when you buy a flipped house. Thankfully, we have 2 other full showers.

I like that idea. I was also thinking I could replace the shower head with a rain style so it's pointing down instead of out.

Least expensive route will be to swap out the shower head, there are plenty to choose from that will redirect the water to be overhead.

No no no. Easiest thing is to buy a straight shower arm and screw in the head so that it aims straight down. The arm will be at a 45 degree angle. I bought one for my shower and it works well. Try that first before you spend oodles on a plumber.

$38. You can even use your current shower head, just buy some white plumbers tape to make sure it doesn't leak. But I bought a larger, round shower head. Feels like a rain style shower head.
