Gas Range in a Small Kitchen

I recently moved. In the house I just sold we installed a 48" range. Granted it was a large kitchen but I could stand next to the range with both ovens going and not really notice the oven.

The new place is a loft with fairly small kitchen and an older GE Profile range. A couple of minutes after turning on the range if you stand near it you begin to feel like you are in a sauna it is putting out so much heat. Among other things we used to regularly cook home made pizzas. However with the amount of heat this thing puts out there is no way we are going to cook a pizza in the summer. It is bad enough that it is impacting out menu planning.

I have never noticed this issue with another range. So I started my research awhile ago and selected the range that I think is the best choice for what I am looking for. I have been watching the prices and came close to pulling the trigger about 6 weeks ago. However my concern is that the new range will have the same issue with heating up the kitchen.

Sure the new range will look better and have more features. However the main driver around the replacement is the heat issue.

Who here has a gas range in a small kitchen and do you have issues with it turning your kitchen into a sauna? I would especially love to hear from anyone that uses an extended, high temperature, pre-heat like you would when using a pizza steel or stone.

To head off any suggestions of moving to a electric or dual fuel range they are out for several reasons. We are concentrating purely on 30" gas ranges.
