I'm planning to grow passion fruit indoors by a south-facing window. It'll be year-round. I've read that you can grow passion fruit indoors and it should take about 2-3 years before they start producing fruit. The biggest issue are the vines which can grow unruly and tall and will need to be supported. I know that growing certain citrus from seed indoors can take years to fruit, but I haven't read that about passion fruit.

There was a thread on another website where someone wrote in about her son's passion fruit. It was grown indoors year-round because he lived in zone 4 or 5. It fruited after 2 years or so. It can be done.

When you say the vines will need to be supported, do you mean with more than just a trellis? I have made a small trellis on the side of my window that I have successfully had other vines grow up.

While fruit would be cool, I would really be more than thrilled if it flowers!

Sorry for not being clear. A trellis should do. Remember to keep the vines close as passiflora caerulea are not generally self-fertile if you want fruit. They need another vine for pollination. Not sure what that will involve on your end.

If you decide to go the self-fertile route, p. edulis are self-fertile. Good luck with your passion fruit. I think it's awesome that you're doing this indoors.
