Blooms from the last few days

Been busy dealing with my mom's estate. Barely have time to get the watering done and take some pics. Found out yesterday one of my chickens is a rooster... one of the white silkies! Dang... But also got our first egg! I'm hoping there will be another one this morning some time... We'll see...

And this is a goofy little juvenile brown towhee that somehow slipped and got its little self stuck down inside one of the columns of my metal pergola in the backyard. My son and I had to take the base off the column and lift it up in order to get her/him out. Not sure how long it was in there, but it was pretty exhausted and disoriented when it flew out the bottom... and or damn dog almost caught it twice, so we had to put her in the house til the poor birdie could recover from the ordeal and get away.

Yeah Sharlene that's the first CORETTA SCOTT KING bloom this yr. She's still in a pot waiting for a spot in an area that's full of Bermudagrass and blackberry that needs to be removed. I think where her pot is located now, it's a bit too shady maybe. I have a bunch of DAs planted nearby that area, and most of those don't bloom much either. I'm afraid there's too much shade there. They're close to a trio of 80ft pine trees. Some sun does get there, but probably not as much as they really need.
