April, Judy - As far as names are concerned, I am open to and would welcome suggestions. So far I have only name four of my roses. All of these still only have their codes.

Ken - #2 is a cross between Deborah (aka Playrose) and Astrid Gräfin von Hardenberg (aka Black Caviar) which I did in 2014. Last year, its first season, all the blooms only had five petals. Petal count this season has doubled. Slightly scented and with the pink edge more predominant in cooler weather.

Judy, hybridizing is sort of what the bees do only you get to determine who the mommies and daddies are. And the offspring can sometimes be totally different or show traits of one or both the parents. If you really want to start hybridizing, there is lots of info on the 'Rose Propagation & Exchange' forum.

That's awesome! I'm happy if I can get a store bought potted rose to grow; never mind creating & growing my own! Hats off to you!!! I especially like #1,5,6 & 7.

A hobby that takes quite a lot of patience, but how rewarding. Thanks for the information on the crosses, Sharlene and for posting more photos. So #5 has climbers for both parents, so hopefully it will climb. How exciting!

Oh!!!!! I am so happy that you created these fabulous new roses!!! It makes my heart sing!!! If I could only do that!!! Oh if only!!!! I've tried...but the summer is too short, cold and rainy. I'll keep trying. But, wow!!!!! Your roses are so incredibly lovely!!! Well done, oh, well done!!

Sharlene, I looked up Deborah on HMF. Sure has a lot of flowers!!

1. Your seedling is better looking than both parents - it's really stuffed with petals and the coloring is gorgeous!!!

2. This seedling is gorgeous in a totally other direction - Looks something like Skylark - only prettier! You sure have the magic touch for hybridizing!!

4. Look at how the petals are so crisply standing. Quite interesting!! Lovely!

5. My favorite!!! Same parents as #1, but so different! I love how the genes play out differently!!

6. I like the darker edges!

7. Oooh!! The veining is lovely!!! I love the color!

10. This rose has such a lovely saturation of color. My 2nd favorite!!

Do you think anyone would buy to sell from you? I think that many of them look marketable! It's probably difficult for an average person to get roses into commerce.
