Hi from sunny Winnipeg. Back in the spring I planted two Honeysuckle (Lonicera Dropmore Scarlet) which were developed in Manitoba although Zone 4 seems wildly optimistic. They have grown very well with lots of dark-green leaves on our porch supports in full sun with little fertilizer but plenty of water. The problem is that we have not even one flower. Do I have to wait for year two? Looks like. Before winter how far back should I prune these bad boys (They are both around 8-9 feet at this point)and should I mulch and burlap wrap the base of the plant?
