I think it depends on where you live. In zone 9b or above you would be able to plant them out as seedlings if you'd like. However, if you have cold winters (below 30 degrees), you might want to grow them out in pots a little longer and plant them in the ground when they're a bit larger to increase their odds of survival over the winter.

Okay. Thank you! I do live in Zone 9. I actually have about 80 small queen palms from seedlings, that's why I wanted to plant them in the ground as soon as possible because I didn't have enough pots so I put 3 to 4 per pot and they all survived! I would hate to lose any but I know that they need to be separated. Thanks for your reply!
