Hello, the cord length I typically include is 48". This will usually be great for up to a 10' ceiling. All my lighting is built by hand so I can easily use longer cords if needed so feel free to request that.

As for the adjustment of the cord, yes these are very easily adjustable and you can simply cut the cord down to the desired length you need. No need to request a shorter length :)
