I just waned to ask the Forum what they consider the best methods of Moving up the Pot Sizes for Containerised Japanese Maples.

When removing a Tree from an existing Container Prior to replanting in a Larger Pot should the original potting mix around he Root Ball be left undisturbed or is it preferable to remove this and disentangle any Congested Root Tendrils to assist Circulation around the Roots.

Also what will be the Ideal time to Scale up the Trees into Larger here in the UK ?
