I am waiting to hear from the reservationist about availability of that pavilion. Fingers crossed!

    cool!

please let me know so I can change the directions on the swap thread.

you might ask if the construction has been completed (surely it has, but who knows what they're up to this year????), so we can get cars closer to the pavilion.

No, I am asking about pavilion 1, the one you are talking about that we have 'squatted in' when it was not occupied. Last time, I mistakenly thought that pavilion 5 was that one. Why would the first pavilion in the park be 5 and the last is 1? Who knows?

Sorry to sound like a grumpy Gus, long and stressful day at work. Still waiting for a response.

sorry you had a long day; they ain't no fun.

so turn down the ac, turn up the music, let the wine flow!

Maybe the path was built from the back toward the street, & the buildings were started as each part of the path was completed?

or maybe it's a Ft Worth kind of a thang???

    Good Morning Ms. Keene,

Unfortunately, all of Trinity Park is booked the entire day on that date for run/walk events.

    Thank you,

It sounds like parking could be difficult also on that date.

Well, heck! I thought I'd combed through every event that was scheduled.

    October 22 sound better?

There used to be a regular plant swap in Arlington. Any idea if it's still a thing?

i used to post on GW as Ana53, trying to get used to these new forums...

There was a group from another forum that had Arlington swaps, but I think the participants sort of scattered.

Just choose the date that works best for you and the group Sylvia.

Okey dokey: October 22 it is!

now to edit the posts that have October 15!

I've decided not to meddle any more. The swap worked great for years and years under Sylvia's sage guidance before I came along and thought that we needed to get a pavilion. Sorry for my disruption to the plan.

    no disruption, just enhancement!

but saving your money means more plants/mulch/blue bottles with beer in them/etc!

Sylvia, there are other parks that we could go to and still keep it on Oct. 15th. There is Randol Mill Park in Arlington, or River Legacy also in Arlington. I'm not that familiar with Ft. Worth parks so no suggestions for there.

Pam, have you already set your vacation date based on the 15th?

Y'all start without me. I just don't have the zeal for swapping this time.

Pam, I'm sorry you don't have your swapping zeal up!

    I hope you recover it before October 22;

I 'specially bought the chalk stick plants with you (as well as me!) in mind.

The Ft Worth Swap has been at Trinity Park for many years, with the exceptions of a couple of years during which I couldn't work up my own zeal & nobody else took over & a couple of times when we moved the location for one reason or another, & it just didn't work.

When someone has been generous enough to rent a pavilion, at this park or at one of the Arlington parks, we've (I've) asked people to "chip in", & the amounts paid just don't add up to anything approaching a pro-rata share of the cost.

Most of the other swaps charge a fee for participation, so that everybody understands, before they come to the swap, what their fair share is.

We can do that if that's what everyone wants; we can have a dialogue on this thread, or we can talk about it at the swap, so that we're prepared for the spring swap.
