Getting too dry would cause loss of older leaves.

Switching from dense, peaty potting soil to a much more chunky/airy mix does mean that it will dry more quickly, and most importantly, should allow you to water often, making sure roots never dry out w/o worrying about overwatering/root rot. Combining the 2 practices of drying and changing soil is a recipe to having a dangerously thirsty plant.

So ibshould start to water it more then right?
