Nice pots They do have drain holes right. A lot of us use plastic and fabric pots when the plant is growing fast. They slow down when they are older. Your pots have a good shape for Adeniums. Sometimes as they young tree's are growing will they can get so tight in a pot they can bust it.

You will need a pots size to be about 2.5" away to the edge from the caudex all the way around. A lot of us use 3" to 5" in depth to keep the tree smaller in size. These like to be root bound.

I bought black Geo pots because they are thicker then most and I can carry them.

Right this sec I can't remember what occurs to the growth pattern in a large and taller pot. I hope someone will come along soon and explain.

That pot in the picture is triangle shaped, as you can see, and the front is lower then the back it does have a hole. It is on the deeper side and glazed! From Ikea, pretty cool looking I thought.

I would go for it the size around from the caudex fits. I understand you wanting pretty pots. Give us a pic when you plant it up. When the roots start going out the bottom you should check to see how the root growth is going in the pot. Leave the dirt on the plant you are just looking at this point.

So maybe it won't break. Take your soil when it is damp and see if it clumps in your hand slightly. We don't a ball of dirt that would mean it is to heavy and needs things added to it.

The second pic is what part of the pot? Can we see the whole plant if you just planted maybe not.

The bottom of the plant(1st) pictured. It's been in that pot for about 15 months. I think the roots are just long? Because it has plenty of room diameter wise.

Are you planning on pruning this next spring? With obesum the roots underground can go faster then the caudex about. That is what I like about them. Can you pull the tree up with out disturbing the dirt. Water it a little if it is very dry. So the dirt stay on the tree. I am trying to see if the roots have expanded underground. They like to be root bound but there can be a limit.
