Vermiculite insulation update

For those who gave advice on our situation, here's an update ;)

The vermiculite insulation found on inspection in the attic eaves of the 1940 house we are buying was sample tested for asbestos and all 3 samples came back as negative for asbestos contamination. Because of the research and recommendations against sample testing, but rather to treat vermiculite insulation as containing some level of asbestos contamination we requested the sellers to remove & reinsulation with blown in cellulose and they agreed to this repair. The sellers also sent a sample to the Zonolite Attic Trust to see if it qualifies as their product through barium testing - they are awaiting those results. We subsequently had asbestos air quality testing for airborne fibers in the house post-removal and all of those air samples came back clean as well. We are thrilled to be moving forward on the house and are set to close next week!
