Am helpless now. Do I need to trim all thefeeders roots to make the caudex clean?? After trimming can I repot it directly, or need to make the trimming wound heals. all suggestions welcome.

really nice caudex's. The branching is great too. As Elena said bet the roots are amazing. They have been in those pots awhile. Do you know hold old they are? Do you plant on up-potting them?

Nice plants Lal!! Beautiful caudex. You must pot it exposing more of the caudex. What media do you intend to use? I suggest that you fill the bottom half with broken Pot bits/LECA and then if you have some coconut husks/ coir( from the neighbourhood grocery shop).create a layer of coconut husk and then cocopeat plus all the fertilizers (I mix some potash, superphosphate, epsom salts, rock phosphate and osmocote/basacote- everything in small quantities say 2 spoons each) in the cocopeat and stand the plant over the husk and pour all this around it. You might need to stabilize the plant in the pot with a few stones. The pots I use are large (12 inch dia) and deep. Water once a wèek (less in rains) prefer rain water. They may/maynot drop all the leaves. Keep in shade for a day and move them to full sun the next day.

Shimolee Didi.... Thank you. I got only 4 grafted plants including these three. Plus 40+ seedlings kind of worried for space. So a beginner cannot risk to graft. Let it blooms first and I'll prune it.

I use Coco husk, cocopeat and washed sand for my medium, same for the the seedlings that I transplanted. Fertilizer 19:19:19 + TE. Somehow not familiar with fertilizer.

I got this from Sikanderpur metro, Gurgaon Nursery. Lots of selection, Little pricy. Cannot buy more than three. Happy with my selection.

Do I need to trim out the feeder Roots??

I trimmed feeder roots right on a plants, they were all above soil line and dryed up nicely on their own. So if you do cut them, make sure cuts don't get wet for a few days. If you want to cut feeder below the soil, I'd dry the cuts first and dust them with fungicide.

Lai the cuts can be covered in cinnamon. There is also another herb used over there. Sinha probably knows. I like to see some feeder roots dried on the caudex above ground bu most people like a clean caudex.

Those are really super nice roots. Wow you did good to get these. I have a few that I have left underground so the roots get bigger. I will raise them maybe a year or so from now. I like twisted roots.

Sinha had to look around for the right fertilizer also.

Turmeric, or haldi to heal rot or cover a cut works very well, if not, "chuna" on the cut also works well;)

Hello Lal, glad to see you have some flowers opening :-)

On looking at the picture you first posted last Sunday, with the closed buds, the leaves look like they've got something all over them? I hope it just harmless dust and not a bad attack of spider mites? I have dust here in the UK, so don't worry if it is! If however the specks are mobile, then you need to take action. Please take a very close look on all surfaces of the leaves but especially so underneath for tiny insects and a very fine webbing.....please get back to us?

Gill Thanks for your concern. ... the leaves are covered with dust or impurities. No spidermites, the leaves are not glossy or shiny. It's soft to touch.

It looks as those leaves are Swazicum or a hybrid of. Felt like feel and usually a greenish gray color, fold up somewhat at mid rid of leaf.
