I'm butting in - I like tough look of more 'raw wood' with soft ivory pieces [instead of more modern black and white contrast].... just me.

Now I see your kitchen backsplash - does dark taupe unit repeat those same colors?

Back to dining table - if you add art over it - and maybe on 'end wall' of kitchen - and things on corner shelves -- maybe then your current table won't seem too white.

Your clear chairs - you asked earlier I think - they're ok and to me blend with lighting above them. Are they comfy is a q.

My dining table is a bit short in length, and it has chrome legs and glossy top, i don't really like it just as the glossy console......cus they don't feel "home" and inviting...

The clear chairs are going away as well. I was asking if there is a way to make the glass coffee table work lol. Cus Flo said it doesn't work with the sofa and chairs...

Let me clarify, I "wished" the table were oval to make in and out from the sofa easier, but that table is fine and I thought you couldn't return it. In the kitchen, eating area, an oval would be better in that space too. Whenever you are tight on space, ovals allow that little bit extra wiggle room to maneuver that is good. In looking at your backsplash in the kitchen, and do like the console in the gray wood tone. Now that unit is not expensive and luxurious, but to me it would work well with what you have going now. I like the detail of the legs too. So, something to consider. It isn't real contemporary, but has some nice clean lines. Have you had a chance to switch the two chairs and their position. I really hope that works. The wing chair would also create a slight separation from the kitchen which would work well I think. Just "wishing" again! lol

That is a lovely painting! You didn't tell us you were an artist! You hit size and colors beautifully! I like it. Good for you. Don't fret over the coffee table. You will get used to it if you haven't already. The rug shows through it beautifully.

With soft looks, and pretty rug, you could add a soft lilac throw or pillow to add a similar zing like your art's lemongrass [?] color adds.... might be too ruffled, though they're not ruffles but seem shabby-torn....

Lime would seem modern like some of your items - but a soft is in tune with your rug, etc... and not 'hot'. A bit like green tea?

Not necessarily - if you added scrumptious opposite-type chairs, with what? maybe soft texture not sure: but like your rug is opposite of other items....and in a good way....

This table height is 28"...does it work well as a dining table tho?

the width is 33.5 x 65. this is the only one that i found that fits the narrow space. It is the same as the white table now which allows seats allowance...it is walnut. does the legs look flimpsy ? the table has to be pushed against the wall, but with the molding on the bottom, it will leave 1in gap between the wall and the inner side of the table....will that be okay tho?

It is the Bergman modernism table in walnut. I am not familiar with the brand though. it is a bargain I saw on craigslist. The size works as a rectangular table for the space.

It is a dining table, right? I think they typically are 29", so it seems close enough. Are you a tall person?

If you love the table otherwise, it would be easy to add protectors on the bottom of the legs that would add a bit of height.

Yes, you are right, however, you could do something similar with some live edge wood and create a base of interest. There are lumber places that specialize in the live edge wood, most of which is recycled from some place, and some put simple pipe bases and paint them black, and some get more exotic. Then you could make it exactly what you want. The lumber place might even be able to make a base for you and set it up. You could size it perfectly. I will find an example.

There are a bunch of options on www.etsy.com Just pull that page up, search "live edge dining table" and you will see a ton of options, all price ranges, most will do a "custom" table. If you like one, I would just call them and discuss the size you want, type of leg (less heavy the better for small table so chairs fit under easily as well as legs!) and look and get a quote. I don't know where you are located, but there are artisans all over the U.S. that do this work these days, so perhaps just looking in your zip code (if you are in U.S.) you will find people that would love to work with you on this project. Beautiful stuff. And, getting that size commercially will be difficult, so a custom project might be in your future! check it out.

Hi Flo Thank you for the follow up:) I am still waiting on the table since they couldnt get the finish/color as I wanted. I might have to cancel it and look for sth else. For the TV area, I removed the white console and is still looking. LOL. Not much progress, but found some frames, books and decors. Will def post updates
