Hi We need a bit more info to help.

Can you go to your profile page and add a location to your name and a grow zone if you know it.

Do you have a pic of your tree?

What kind of soil is it in? Needs a quick draining soil fit for your area.

What and when do you fertilize? What size pot is it in? Have you ever looked at the roots? Is the caudex firm?

Is it grown inside or out in winter how and where is it grown?

How often do you water it?

in 10 inch pottery type pot, caudex is firm, grown outside in summer zone 7, soil mix of cactus soil and potting mix fairly quick draining and same as used for other DR without this problem. Water when top of soil is dry or according to moisture meter. I bought 2 dormant plants and other leafed out right away. Thank you.

What state or country are you in? Some area's of the world are just coming into Spring.

What about fertilizer? It may be time to look at the roots? At first you would not need to rinse the roots. They may be fine. Or there might be some rot with in.

Is the pot edge about 2.5 inches away from the caudex all the way around? Are pics not an option. I would understand. I only have my cell phone and we don't get reception here so it is only for pics.

Are we talking Obesum? Grafted or not?

Cactus soil and potting mix combo makes me at tad suspicious when used outside in a zone 7 summer...despite you saying others don't have problems. Commercial cactus mixes are often very much the same as regular potting mix, in other words they don't do what you expect them to in promoting fast drainage.

As asked, please do add some part of your country/state/plant zone after your name via your homepage as we can't give best advise without. Also need some more answers to the questions raised above, and that all important pic! :-)

Please keep the plant in the sun..full sun and feed it some fertilizer and water it two three times a week..Some breeds take longer to leaf out. My adenium YS took nearly six months after I got them and only leafed out this spring when I fertilized them and regularly watered them, that too in the full sun. A pic would have definitely helped to get a look at its condition
