Paint question

Hello! I was googling paint colors and ended up here on an old thread. Since I have an account, I thought I'd ask my question.

I just painted my family room/dining room with SW "Contended." My home is fairly dark (lots of trees on the south side). Now I need to paint the adjoining foyer (stairs and upstairs hallway as well) which is currently the most awful shade of cranberry red (prior owners). My style is leaning toward cooler colors but most of the colors in my home are warm. What neutral would look good next to contended. I am looking for something light but with some color (I get bored with white). I like grays but am not sure how well they will pair. I like silver strand (but think it might be too close to contended) and revere pewter but not sure. My floors are your run of the mill honey oak. Someday I'd like to stain them but for now they're orangey.

Well, I am telling you, you absolutely cannot go wrong with BM Capitol White. It is an amazing creamy, luscious, happy, calming, warm, cool color. It's a perfect color that works in every light.

Take a look at SW Neutral Ground.

That's pretty. My concern is that half our house is a beige color. I'm kinda sick of it :( This version is much nicer than our other colors but still in the same vein. Thanks though!

Or BM Clay Beige. Its one of my new favorite colors. It's a beige, but very light & breezy without a lot of undertones. Its has a bit gray/green undertone if I had to pick out an undertone.

Thank you all so much. I've been thinking about agreeable gray. I haven't though much about actual white but that Capital white looks pretty. I guess I'm going to have to get some samples. Maybe I can post back once I do that. Of course I have to get some primer on those awful red walls. Ugh.

I love Agreeable Gray. It doesn't look like anything on the SW site. Rather, the color changes depending on light. A favorite with all ages and demographics, based on my experience :)
