Oh I don't think anything really looks off. I think you should pull the furniture in towards each other to make it feel cohesive and then add a LARGE rug that shows out the back of the couch. And add curtains

And the current paint color works nicely w everything imo. I don't think it needs to be changed (I see swatches of paint samples)

I agree with the comment to add a large rug.

It's all very nice! agree the furniture needs to be pulled together and an area rug would be nice. I think the problem with the cabinetry next to fireplace is it is so small - needs to be all (almost all the way across wall) or nothing ...so as is leaves the clock and art on other side looking off balance. If removing or adding to it isn't an option I would remove all art and add two large/tall plants on either side.

Agree remove kitchen cabinets. Or paint them dark gray like stone on fireplace. Then place some tall metallic pots on each side of fireplace. Add two large long pieces of artwork either side. Look up museum banners. They are long and large and would help give room some presence. Rug, pull furniture in from walls will help. Chandelier over dining table is not appropriate for style and size of table. You can stay modern but find something more rectangular.

Paint mantel dark gray too. Or wood tone. White doesn't do anything for this wall.

yea, the cabinets are throwing things off. Like above, move it closer, add rug, swap chaise and chair, remove white cabinets.

Two low consoles one on each side would really be good. Storage for tv components and for movies and stowing small items. It would create a nice wall. Then paint that wall a lighter gray than stone to tie it all together.

Here are some examples:

One of these on each side I think would fit, and they are not very expensive, so not sure of quality.A little longer, so you have to measure. Also, inexpensive.A bit more contemporary. there are some amazing ones out there, depending on your budget and size requirements. Slightly darker color, which might fit really nice. If too long for right side, I think it would fit on left and then you could do something complementary on other side so it looks like wall unit.

Landscaping barnhouse in Colorado.....now the outside!!!
Afyer 12 months of planning this new build, we need to move to landscaping ideas. There will be a deck off the backside of the house that wraps around.

A cable box and all other elements related can be stashed ANYWHERE. The use of an IR repeater makes it possible to put them in a distant location, even a CLOSET and operate from a single remote. Once you don't need that storage.....you can have an open console, art, floating shelves, almost anything alongside!!

Calling all landscape designers. Our new barn/prairie house is almost done and we are stumped on how to landscape it.
On the plains of eastern Colorado!!!!! Pretty dry and mild climate, low water. The house has a deck to be completed on the backside.
