Since I live in a rhodo culture vacuum and need some advice about a certain pruning procedure. My fantastica (a yak hybrid) has vigorous growth at the base of the plant while the long branches just so so. Is it customary after a period of time to prune back the older branches to allow the bottom to spring up in growth? please no wild guessing. thank you
