Stephen, I never get that precise about repotting :-) In fact, I recently repotted (up-potted) a JM that was under serious stress from both being rootbound and getting doused with overspray from a deck stain spraying. Believe it or not, it is responding very well!!

Root pruning I always wait until the tree is dormant but that can be any time it is out of leaf. And when the weather cooperates :-))
