Hi everyone just moved my tree's to there new home . I was totally shocked to see this cluster of fruit that was on the back side of my Page tree .

Good morning Cory ,Dev, Laura and Steve very funny Steve . Funny I never noticed this cluster during the whole moving process . My better half noticed a couple of hours after we had arrived , I heard Brian you better come over and check this out first reaction oh no a huge branch was broken from the move when I actually took a look you cannot believe my reaction I must have jumped 10 feet exaggerating of course . I have never ever seen anything like that since I have being doing this . Dev and Laura you would love the Page and the fruit do ripen even this far north to perfection soooooo sweet . Hi Cory the GH Is going up slow but sure huge process and the GH is super big . Laura actually I do use MG love the stuff . Hi Laura thanks . We are going back to our new home sometime today I will take measurements of the pot I am curious also . It just made it through the gate . I would say the tree is closer to 10 ft tall . In the moving truck the top of the tree was folded over lol , its big the movers didn't think it would fit . It took 4 people to lift the tree a couple of inches off the ground. Funny after all the tree's were in the truck the mover took pics of all the tree's inside, he has been doing this job for 25 yrs and never ever thought he would be moving orange tree's like this especially not in Canada he was floored .

Brian, sorry to hound you with more questions...:-). I want my trees to look like you yours someday! What mix are they in? How much light do they get in winter (do you supplement since your days are short)? And lastly, what temps do you keep your greenhouse (day and night)? Again...sorry for all the questions!!!

Everyone has been posting such lovely pictures of their citrus trees and fruit. I am in awe of all the different varieties you are all growing, and, how beautiful they all look..

Hobby, no, I don't believe at this point that some of the lighter leaves on a few of my trees are caused by the change in the weather pattern. They arrived to me from the vendors already that way. Both, Santa Teresa's, Sour Orange and Gold Nugget have been receiving a little more fertilizer. We have been getting some nice rains this past week, so, that should help also. The key lime leaves have always been a bit lighter in color, and, has been under a bit of stress lately from me adding a stake probably to close to the roots, thus causing damage to it. Half of the leaves fell off on one side of the plant while it was fruiting. You have some really nice, lovely citrus.. what a collection!! :)

Dev, wow! You have some wonderful varieties, and, all that fruit! I am truly in awe! And that rose! How gorgeous! Great job!

Vladimir and Brian, You both have such lovely trees !! I am truly inspired! Everyone on here is such an inspiration, and, so helpful to others. I learn so much from this forum. Brian, It looks like I will be ordering a Tangelo and Page next season! I can't get over how productive and beautiful your trees are! I look forward to seeing both of your greenhouses and set ups while you are working on them.

Hi Dev thanks !! We just finished packing up our bedroom and of course it's pouring outside so we cannot bring our mattress . The Greenhouse is almost 17ft long by almost 13ft wide. They were working on the Greenhouse today before the rain . We are heading over there now so hope to have some updated pics .

Hi guy's here are a couple of pics . The greenhouse is really coming along great . This greenhouse is going to be very sturdy the metal frame is very thick looks of good quality very impressed. The panels are not up yet but I checked them out they are 5 wall extremely thick should save on heating . The doorway is very wide .

The backyard is still a mess nothing is placed but the tree's are going to go in the greenhouse next week anyways so I guess no point

Looking great Brian. Were you originally going to build one attached to your house? This looks stand-alone. It does look nice and sturdy and you will no longer have to lift them over the wall. Nice wide door. Good thing as your trees are really huge now. I don't know what I will do when mine get that big. I bet you are so excited. They look nice around the pool too.

Hi Laura and Cory thankyou! ! I am really excited I was just standing inside the GH and I can't believe the size and height of it which means no trimming this fall :) . Cory we were going to get an attached built but we were told we would not get the height we needed because the house is a bungalow. Cory and Laura this was a dream of ours we don't travel any longer and we do miss the tropic's so we just had to bring it to us . Thanks again . Hi figsinhawaii wow Hawaii this is one place I would love to go to , such a beautiful state . I would love to see pics of your plants and backyard I bet it's a tropical paradise . Now if I had a place in Hawaii wow the things I would do I guess I will keep on dreaming . Figs we are going to build a small ramp and use a dolly to lift . It took 4 guy's just to lift one lol just one is like that the other's are semi manageable.

Cory I am so looking forward to winter , I definitely will be spending a ton of time in there . We are going to put a small fountain in there for that waterfall sound . Now I will have space to do my cuttings and start my veggie and flowers for the spring .

Brian buddy, how did you make the door way the way you did? How did the bottom part get so much lower without affecting the greenhouse itself? Did you have to order another piece or something? I thought it all came as one unit and that you would have to have the door way bottom rain even with the rest of the greenhouse, no? In other words, how did you get the doorway piece to drop much lower than the rest of the frame?

Great job..Did you replace that pool with the greenhouse? If so, then great idea to have a fence like that behind it..The sun will hit it and keep it a bit more warmer, sort of a micro climate..I love it!! Don't forget the patio gravity chair and a small Tiki bar in there..It's not all about the trees only you know..Lo HUGS

Brian forget the thunder and install a fire prevention sprinkler system then go in with a match and hold it to a sensor and wala you have a wonderful heavy storm. Your trees will love it to.

Mikey and Steve to funny no rain and thunderstorms for me I hate that lol storm chasing is over for me . Steve I will have to look into an automatic misting system , now that I can handle . Mikey this is our new home we moved and we do have a tiki bar lol here you can see it in this pic we had to cover it up last night because with my luck we had a thunderstorm.

Mikey the greenhouse was custom made with 2 doors to the ground I think they are called knee wall high doors. It will make life so much easier we won't have to lift the trees 2ft up any longer . They had to pour 6 inches of gravel and dust to level off the property where the GH is sitting then they poured concrete around the outer gravel so the gravel won't go anywhere. So we still have to lift the trees about 6 inches to get them in so we are going to build a small ramp . The pool is new 34ft salt water we love it . Mikey there has been so much construction on the property we lost our grass so poor Sugar gets coated in mud every time he goes outside he is really beginning to hate baths almost everyday lol . We had the property fenced in and I will tell you Mikey that the fence really holds the heat in . Around the pool concrete was poured so I have a great place to put my tree's , off the ground away from the ants . Looking forward to next spring and getting all our perennials planted and new grass . Mikey bar is always open but I am a terrible bartender I usually like being the customer.

I know where all mines have gone..I think I found your success in your trees..It's not the sunshine at all. but the dog darn nitrogen you are getting from all that rain water and lightning!! lol. If I had storms like I use too before my citrus days, then I just might have much more vigorous growth than I do..Ha Steve is a riot!! That sounds like a great idea..lol

Great idea..Listen, you should put something in there with all that room that holds water that would provide humidity and heat at the same time..Some use huge 30 gallon barrels that catch the heat of the day and slowly looses heat by night. Just a thought.

That good one..You fooled me...I see 4 empty seat there..Too many for me..I can see my but in one of those and some of your other favorite people..ha..Where's the 'hidden' booze? Let alone fruit...Oh my God..You are so going to miss summer nights in that pool and in the Tiki Tiki that you will have to spend the rest of your days from fall until spring rolled up on the couch watching Netflix and reading in the greenhouse...Who knows, one day you might get a warm spell in the middle of winter and the sun and humidity will make you feel like you are on a tropical beach somewhere..you could put on your bathing suit, lather yourself up with Hawaiian Tropic tanning lotion and lay out on a gravity chair while I pour some drinks for you..lol

Oh, you have me laughing my head off too..By the way, other than your friend, who in the else would be so kind as to help you lift that monsterous tree of yours without some kind of payment? Grass, yes, grass is the life of my yard..Without that my house would look like crap. You can never seem to find a mop, a good one that keeps up for more than a week or two without falling apart, and being on the knees using a sponge, forget that...It seems like the dirt just appears out of no where over night!

Today , I have cloudy skies and VERY humid, summer like without a drop of rain..I got 1/4 of an inch since spring and believe me when I tell you, all my trees are suffering from it right down to my orchids..Do an Indian Dance for me in your yard for me will you??

Mikey we paid a couple of guy's to help with the move of the tree's they couldn't believe it they took lots of pics . The construction workers working at the house can't believe it they are taking pics and the neighbors the same it's definitely stirring up curiosity and interest . Speaking of curiosity you definitely have mine up now I am going to have to check out Netflix on the weekend I am taking it that it's very gross or funny this salt water pool lol. Mikey you have rain Yippee Yippee this is the same system that actually soaked us on Saturday while we were trying to move prepare for a lot of wetness. although you could certainly use it . Wow you guys have been busy! I was away for a business trip and had to save the updates on this thread til I got home so I could see the pics on my big screen. So much to comment on so if I miss anything forgive me!

Yes dev, keep me posted on the LED I am really interested in those! Good news I managed to buy a used HPS and some strip LEDs from a friend so I will use those this winter in my grow room in addition to my HO T5s. I have one corner of my room that is quite dark and doesn't get much light from the T5s so I will create a little grouping of trees up on a pallet and hang the HPS over them. Should be an interesting experiment to see how they do!

Brian good lord that is an amazing set up over there, I am loving the tiki lounge! You and I would be fast buddies I am sure!! The greenhouse is absolutely incredible, can you tell me the company again, I want to research them. Is the company installing it too or did you get a contractor? I'm sorry I know I asked before, will jot it down this time. You will literally have my dream once you are set up, a proper orangerie! Amazing! I love that you raised it up so high, what a great tip, I think Cory has suggested before too...

Those page clusters are incredible, once again I think I gasped out loud when I say them....

Well my weather seems to be hanging on, everyone is still in my garage and about 10 of my smaller ones I was able to fit into my greenhouse now that the melons have been cleared out. They seem quite happy in there! There's no supplemental heat so it will just be transitional area until everyone goes into my room for winter. That will be by mid week next week as I will be travelling again so I need to tuck everyone up inside nice and warm lol.

2 Inches of rain today!!! Enough to fill my bucket up and if I had thought of it, I should of filled my buckets in the basement too..What a =n idiot@!

You know, all these pics of hidden fruit and I have yet to post any of mine..lol I did happen to get a couple of Oro Blanco grapefruits to get to be a pretty good size,,I never noticed it until I was looking at them this morning watching the rain fall upon them..Funny, it seems I only concern myself with watering and feeding and never really look to see what I have....It's good news....You know why????????? I must be getting much more sunlight than I once thought that will allow me to grow much more fruit than I once thought..I am tickled pink! If anyone can get a GRAPEFRUIT to fruit and mature, then I must be able to grow mire than I thought, even without being in a greenhouse...I am so excited..

Brian, because of you I want to try a Page! What is it? An Orange or Manderine? I can't believe all that fruit you have on that tree...It's as if you plucked it out of the ground from Florida...By the way, what a great idea for that garage..I might do the same..Is it expensive? Hobby, nice setup! I am nowhere near that yet...thankfully! Mike, we had tons of rain here also...I think like 2 inches. I don't have buckets, but between the fertilizer and the rain, the plants seem to have gotten a steroid shot! I kid you not, I think the blood orange grew an inch overnight! It had a few small shoots and they just exploded overnight and today. I've barely been able to go outside to see them bc of the rain, but could see through the windows. I am sooo happy to hear you got some grapefruits....as you said, that has implications for all your other plants and how much light and heat they receive. I do hope you will eat them or find someone who will enjoy them!!

All we got was 0.16 inches of rain. Still in severe drought.

Laura, re greenhouse: I just removed a bush and sod from the site. That took all day. Lumber (4X6's) and gravel was just delivered. Am waiting for estimates from electricians and plumber. Will install wooden foundation on Thursday; metal foundation on top of wood on Friday and start greenhouse construction Saturday.

Cara Cara has two nice fruit so far.

Ortanique. The blooms smell incredible..

Budd Blood Orange. It has a couple small clusters of blooms and fruit. The tree is young, and as much as I would love to have at least one fruit mature, if they don't fall off, I will twist them off. The bees are going crazy for the blooms, as the citrus I have outside are the only plants in bloom this time of year..

1. Lots of sunshine in a warm environment like your greenhouse?

2. Lots of cool temps with not enough sunlight?

If you can provide the first, continue to feed your tree at a weaker dose and keep an eye for mites and such...Your fruits should fully grow to enjoy)

If the later, then your tree will hold on to its fruit and you will not have to deal with pests, but continue to mature as soon as spring comes in with longer and warmer days.

Looking good Jinny! Yes I have been seeing my bees on the citrus too, I love it! I definitely have the intention of trying to encourage citrus honey someday.
