Quartzite is harder than granite and beautiful. I just had a dark leathered quartzite countertop installed on my kitchen island two weeks ago and it's the best surface ever. Here is one example of a light quartzite and I'll find a few more. Unfortunately, it's expensive like marble.

I was told to go with frosty carina ( cecearstone) or the belenco fairy white but they kind of look fake to me.

Quartz (as was recommended to you) is mostly quartzite but is man made, so it won't quite have that beauty of natural stone like quartzite, although it should have the durability. Most granite warehouses also have some slabs of quartzite and most are light colored, so you should be able to find one you like quite easily. I paid an extra $600 to have my slab leathered and I'm so glad I did, it's an amazing finish. I didn't want to spend the money to have all my countertops done in quartzite, so I did just the island. I actually have Corian on the perimeter countertops and it looks pretty good with the quartzite. A more common option would be to use quartzite for an island and quartz for the perimeter to save a bit of money. Will your kitchen have an island? I'll see if I can figure out the name of the quartzite you liked - or just search in Houzz for "quartzite countertops" and you'll find that picture easily.

It looks like the name of the one you like might be Macabus White Quartzite.

Good luck! Visit a few yards if the first doesn't have the perfect slab. Quartzite is an amazing countertop material! It's beautiful and I don't think you could damage or scratch it if you tried!
