Agree,,no need for the rug.

I would remove the rug and the pillow and switch the placement of the lemon bowl and the owl. Tile is pretty!

I would have nothing under the table except the basket....(no rug either) If you want to have color, you could change the flower arrangement....remember odd numbers on shelves.....

I like what you've done but have a couple of suggestions. First, I like the pillow a lot, but I think its location is very odd, and I would relocate it to a nearby chair or sofa. Second, I would move the rug in front of the door, so people can step on it as they enter your foyer (that's where it looks like it belongs). The rug does not enhance an otherwise stylish vignette.
