We live in a new construction house. Whilst we really love
it here, I have a feeling that one day we will build our true dream house... Meanwhile,
we are grateful for what we have and are trying to make this house “our own”.

So, when we were in a process of buying it, we knew
right away that we will replace all the builder’ installed shelving and light
fixtures. Finally, after 1.5 years of being here, all our bedroom & hallway
closets, walk-in pantry, etc. have been updated and all the light fixtures have been
    replaced.

I sold some of the shelving and light fixtures on Craigslist
    and I also donated some.

We are real people with real budget and real stuff to be
stored, so we decided to go with “Elfa” closet system from The Container Store.
We just love the flexibility of it!

My husband spent countless weekends installing everything and
I stayed many a night till 3:00 am to organize things, to put them away and
such. Team work! We did everything ourselves and to our liking, and of course,
    saved money this way.

For our master closet, the very first thing we did was to install a new light
fixture, Schonbek flush-mount, just for a tiny dose of glamour.

Then we took out all the shelves, patched the holes, applied
texture and painted those spots. DH got busy installing everything and here is
    the final result!

The mirror was sort of re-purposed. We had it in the entryway
of our previous house. I couldn’t find a spot for it in our new house and
was getting ready to sell it, when voila, the opportunity for it to be useful again
    presented itself :).

The ottoman is from Room & Board (Lind Cowhide Ottoman)
and it’s on casters, very easy to move around.

We had just enough space to have two photographs on the wall; they are from a magazine.

    Love those shelf/purse dividers!

Finally, these valet rods are so useful! We have four throughout:

Sorry everything had to be broken up in chunks. And, I should have asked DH to take pictures as I'm not such a good photographer, and my pictures turned out awfully dark!

This is off subject but I know other Houzzers want to say, "Do new landscaping for your pretty home."
Nothing dates a nice place like old overgrown shrubs. Consider new lower shrubs, a large new lantern light to replace the small one over door and a new mailbox. With your new door it will all look great!

Studio NOO Design, merci bien :)!

Najeebah, it's going to sound awfully silly, perhaps. Of all things, I'm enjoying having an ottoman in my new closet so much. I finally got enough space to have one. I've dreamed about it, but never had a chance to!
