My sigilattis sits in a unique spot on my patio that gets direct west sun on it for 2 hours each afternoon around 4 pm and since I water this from above, I didn't pay attention to detail. This is what I found :

Those new leaves are 100% pink to start. She may be a slow grower but she puts on quite the show doing it ! She doesn't mind the 90 degree plus weather at all.

Show me your tinged, splashy leaves !!

Same here, Monica. My sigillatis does get the deep pink with the young leaves, but those that redden up for the Floridians just stay green for me. Once in awhile, I get lucky. I had this almost against the east glass in the GH and turned it around a few days ago (tjadasmalangensis):

It had just rained hard enough to rain in the window. I wish I'd seen it a few days earlier, because this was after days of gloom...maybe it was even darker!

OK - you Floridians ....I'm so envious!!

I have an Obscura in dappled sun and the dang thing doesn't even have a tinge of color. Just solid green! Ugh!!!

Try full sun for several hours instead of dappled sun....

All are gorgeous! I don't have much to show for foliage, but I do see two peduncles forming on Nikki, and a new leaf here or there on some plants. Lacunosa var. pallidiflora is growing a new vine and pubicalyx Pink Dragon has an extremely long vine, as does my shepherdii, which also has a peduncle!

Monica....there are more than one type of obscura. I have one called obscura "major" that bronzes up great. However I had another one with smaller leaves that would never even get a hint of red. Stayed lime green even outside on the south side of the tree.

Thank you Mairzy. I'm not sure what types of Obscura I have. I'll have to do some research and try to figure out my varieties.
