Rain.

It absolutely poured on us in town today. Then our gauge at home showed .57 when we got home. We need more but it's a start.

I thought you were getting rain today. These recent rains have been crazy here also. It floods in some places and a few miles away they get almost nothing. We had an empty wheelbarrow in our yard that was one of those deep rubber ones with two large wheels. In our two day rainfall it was full and spilling out the front and our Mesonet recorded about one and one-half inches. We have had two rainfalls like that in the last month or so.

I need to do like you do and record every rainfall because I know we have had more at our house this year than is being reported in our county. Usually the southern part of our county gets about 4 inches a year more than we do, but I don't think it has been that way this year. My Seminole squash is enjoying the rainfall and is taking over the neighborhood. Just under 250 pounds harvested so far. LOL

I saw that George's father was in the hospital following a heart attack, but I haven't seen an update since the initial one. Have you?

I watched the radar tonight, I swear the storm zig zagged to avoid me. Did cool things down. Somebody north east of me got a lot of rain.

I missed any info about Georges father.

Dorothy, Yay! At least it is a start. I know you need a lot more, and hope you get a lot more. It's been so dry up there this year.

Carol, That sort of hit and miss rain has driven me crazy all year. Our mesonet station keeps getting rain the rest of us aren't getting, so our county rainfall looks pretty good on paper, but not so great for the rest of us in the county who have been missed repeatedly by the kind of rainfall that Burneyville is getting.

You're having such an epic Seminole year! I had one like that in 2012 or 2013, and even in 2011, but not so much since then. I've been planting less winter squash than usual though, so that's my fault. It is just such a space hog, and I give too much space to other hogs like tomato plants and southern peas.

I hadn't heard about George's dad. I hope he is going to be alright.

We got just over and inch and a half yesterday but it came in several showers. That makes 8 inches for us in a very short while and we are very wet. Now that I need to be cleaning up my garden, it is very wet. I really haven't had much time to spend on it so it is pretty grown up anyway.

We got about 2 1/2" in 45 minutes today. Crazy! Wasn't even supose to rain. We were headed to the fair but decided to go tomorrow.

Stockergal, that was insane, huh? We were starting a cookout to celebrate life with a kitchen again. Tom had just walked down to the grill and it hit! I started calling everyone to tell them to stay put-- don't come out here! Our power went out but is now back thankfully. I'm not sure how much rain we got but I think it was a lot. Our rain gauge disappeared in the remodel.
