Dream closet. Help please!!!!!

I have attached my floor plan to my dilemma. I want a dream closet with an island in the center and Chandelier. My architect designed this. We bought the home from frame stage. The builder designed a his and hers big walk ins. But I want to make it into one huge closet. He says it will eliminate a lot of shelving space. And where would my husbands clothes go? Share mine ? Maybe. But I want to put his some where in the attic. What do you guys think. I also attached inspiration pics. I don't have a lot of time to make this choice. What should I do ? Settle for 2 walk ins ? I am dreaming about my closet. I really want one room with an island and chandelier. We have the space. What should I do ? Thanks.

PS- re: your husbands clothes and bathroom in the attic.

I would be really hurt if, while building a dream home together, my partner told me that there wasn't room for me and my stuff in his "dream house" and that each morning I would have to go to the attic to get ready because there wasn't room for both of us.

It's hard to see the measurements. But the closets are both 12 by 12. The bedroom is 22 by 16. And master bath is 12 by 18. The builder suggested building my husband a man cave in attic space above the garage that would include a bathroom and closet for him.

I can't see your plans super well, but get the sense of the layout if not the measurements.

What about shifting the hallway going into the bathroom so it runs through a his/her closet area? There might be room to have a bank of reach in closets to the right of the hall for husband and on the left a walk in closet with island for you.

The other way to do it might be to have a bank of reach ins for the husband you can get to from the bedroom. However, either way, you do lose a lot of hanging space in having an island. But maybe you want the island more!

At @alice. Yes I understand the attic issue. He is the one that told the builder he wants a man cave and his own bathroom and suggested it go over the garage. Since it's a huge attic. We have 5 kids and a busy home. I think he def likes to get away into his own space. I told him that's far. But he didn't seem to care. And I don't mind sharing my closet at all. Issue is I don't think there would be enough space! I can't shift hallways. 2 stair cases there. One going to basement and the other one leading to upstairs.

Perhaps built-in drawers would give you the "feel" of an island without taking away too much hanging space. Then still hang a chandelier if that's what you really want. We out tons of built-in shelves & drawers in our closets (just finished in April) and love them.

Ahhh. Got it. Sorry I misunderstood. You might see whether you want more closet and a little less bedroom. You could put a bank of reach ins with pretty paneled beveled glass doors in the bedroom and turn both closets you currently have planned into one large one.
