A master bedroom should have enough room to walk around the bed. A comfortable amount of space on three sides of the bed is about 36 inches/91.4 cm. The master bedroom should have a space to stand in front of clothing storage areas, and enough room to get dressed without bumping into anything.

The size of a master bedroom should be appropriately proportioned to the size of the house. A room which is about 250 sq ft should work, but then if you are looking at a 750 sq ft house, it is out of proportion, just as it is out of proportion to the space available in a 4000 sq ft house.
