My hoyas live on a big table in front of an unobstructed east window and under one 4' T8 bulb for supplemental lighting...I have forced air heat and they hate the indoor dryness, although I do try to mist regularly....still, winter is a difficult time for them and by Spring they are more than ready to go outside again...

LOL! One year after bringing in several large floor plants, I noticed a bunch of scattered dirt beside one pot and a place in the soil that looked like someone had dug into it with a spoon. A black striped lizard was hiding in the floor under the wheeled plant cart. (I won't even mention the time I came home and dragged several big plants into the office because the wind was blowing really cold and I didn't want to wait for DH to help. And I didn't inspect them like I usually do. About an hour later I walked into the office and found a little chicken snake lounging under my desk chair. Surprise!)

Wow, you're so lucky to have all those reptiles around...what state do you live in? Here in Pa. we're lucky to see the occasional black rat snake or garter snake...

Oh, that makes sense....I grew up in eastern Kansas and there were tons of reptiles around--snakes, lizards, box turtles...sigh...those were the days...it was quite a shock when we moved to Pennsylvania and there was suddenly nothing....I would love to find a snake in my office :-D

I'm in Raleigh and we have Copperhead snakes all over the place! I'm originally a Jersey girl and it's taken me a while to get used to the lizards (skinks) but the snakes just freak me out. I have one neighbor that had a Copperhead in her house and another one that got bitten by one. Yikes!

My Hoyas winter in several rooms in my house. I'm getting a greenhouse but plan on using it for my 17 citrus trees. I don't want to pay hundreds of dollars to heat it high enough for Hoyas.

I saw a crushed copperhead in the road a few weeks ago, and that's the first one I've ever seen in this area but others have seen them. The colors were stunning. Really coppery. I can't imagine finding a poisonous snake in my house! I'd probably fall down dead from fright! LOL!

I brought all the Hoyas in except for two small ones that need to be potted up into something a little larger than their 4 inch plastic shipping pots. No evidence of any critters so far, (knock wood!) but I did notice 2 penduncles (sp) on the Obovata and one on the variegated Kerri! YAY!
