Would be nice to have a normal winter, I have more plants that had issues with early spring verses long cold winters, not that I like those.

Last winter was amazingly mild and a solid zone 5 here, even the buddleia bushes had wintered with lots of live wood! Daffodils were breaking ground in March and perennials pushing soon afterwards. Then, El Nino had fizzled out and cold and frost and plenty of moisture was received in May. I was fortunate at the time to escape extreme hard frost, even the hostas were barely touched, though other folks had seen plummeting overnight lows that claimed their fruit tree blossoms. During the summer, plenty of moisture was received at my location, while other places being totally dumped upon and the rain now continues with crops laying in the fields deteriorating and low pressure systems swirl around and around. Certainly seems more like typical La Nina conditions to me. Anyways, I think Alberta is in for a cold and snowy winter, I hope I'm proven wrong :)

I am waiting for the cold weather. We got lots of snow early in Oct. but it is all gone now. I don't know--- this warm weather is slightly disturbing for me, it is the second year in a row and I would welcome some more normal temps. But that is just me :) I love winter.
