My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

First order, Blooming Bulb

Hi all. I'm completely new to the world of hippeastrums, or hippies, or amies as I've seen people refer to them! Blooming Bulb has a nice selection at suspiciously low prices. I decided to close my eyes and order the following:

Alfresco, Blossom Peacock, Christmas Star, Hot Lips, Joker, Miracle, Molto Bello, Naranja, and Razzle Dazzle.

This seems like a good mix for a newbie to cut his teeth on. Are there specific cultivars that you would recommend? Also, what are some good books on hippeastrums? They're such interesting plants! Overwhelming in a way. What are some of your favorites?

    Nice selection to "sink your teeth in"!! As for books, I think if you start as far back as you can go on this forum and read every post, you will learn more here than from any book!!! (Just my opinion.....)☺☺
