Is anyone familiar with this variety? I'd gotten seeds with that label in a swap. The pods look smaller than photos online for this variety. They never did make good snaps. By the time the pods had any size to them, they were already at shelly stage. They started out green but got a little purple streaking as they got older.
At shelly stage the white seeds taste delicious, with a strong, rich "warm" flavor that I really like. The last time I grew a variety that I especially liked, it also didn't look like the photos online so I think it was mis-labeled or something. I'm wondering if it has happened again with the Doyce Chambers.
If you are familiar with it, does my description sound like the Doyce Chambers Greasy Cut-Short that you know?
This is end-of-season, after the poor dears went unprotected from spidermites for months.
Does anyone know how to search the forum? I can't see anything helpful.
