Roses that are still blooming

I wish I could enjoy this part of the year better. But there's just no smell to my roses. But here they are anyway...since none of you can smell them anyway! LOL

This is Carole Bouquet. I wanted to smell this rose, and the only way was to cut the bloom. This (in a pot) is taller than I am by about a foot.

Memorial Day trying to bloom!!

Neil Diamond

Evelyn reminding me of why I love this rose. Barely bloomed this summer, probably because it was too cool and wet.

Strawberry Hill - smells fabulous no matter what the weather...and there's a whole lot of buds coming. Trouble is that snow is coming too (Tuesday). Although snow isn't really a deal breaker, and our temps are still good enough for the roses to bloom.

Holly Bells still blooming. Hasn't stopped at all. This is a rose the bees and I hybridized from John Davis. I'm hoping it will be winter hardy when I eventually plant a cutting of it.

Baron Edmund de Rothchild - this is the only rose in my garden that has blackspot. It's not a problem, since it only gets it at then end of the season. But anyone wanting to get it in a more problematic area...be warned. :)

Pretty Jessica finally has a bloom that opened. It's been 3 years.

Carol, I enjoyed seeing your roses and appreciate the insight that you share. Carole Bouquet is beautiful and the blue bottle really enhances her beauty.

Kentucky - Thanks!! I really love this rose, and it has a good fragrance!! I collect blue bottles/vaes.

Ashley - Thanks!! I love Memorial Day and Evelyn too! I wanted to get rid of Evelyn this year, because I forgot how wonderful she can be. Definitely did not love our cold summer this year.

Towandaaz - Thanks!!! Not as pretty as other people's Evelyns - but she's made me happy!!

So lovely! Carole Bouquet looks like the perfect light pink rose to me, and I agree, the blue vase sets it off, love it! They're all very nice!

Cenk - Thank you!! That's the first picture over the entire summer that was worth taking. Sure hope it improves next year. :)

Boncrow - Thank you!! You know it - cobalt blue rules!! :) Actually the snow forecast is no more...but we're getting temperatures 1 degree above freezing tomorrow night...so I've got to pick the tomatoes, etc.

Sara-Ann - Thanks, Sara-Ann - I love pink as you can tell - and Carole Bouqeut is so pretty!

I love your roses. Especially 'Evelyn'. Beauty plus fragrance out of this world.

I am so glad to hear someone else has the patience to let a rose grow for 3 years before it begins performing. Huzzahs to you!

Carol your roses are just fabulous. I don't often visit this forum so don't get to see them, and how wonderful to get a rose like Holly Bells from John Davis, that's fascinating.. keep up the good work !...

You have lots of pretties blooming. I love them all.

Irisgal - I gratefully accept your Huzzahs!! :) Thanks for your kind words. :)

Marlorena - Thank you!! I'm desparately trying with my vast mental powers to get the two hips I have on Night Owl to ripen. The hips are nice and large...but I'm doubtful they'll ripen.

Prettypetals - Thank you!! The Carole Bouquet bloom is in the house and smells nice and still looks gorgeous!

Beautiful! I love that apricot shading on Evelyn! Almost all of the Austin varieties are available here but not Evelyn for some reason (I can still get it from other sources around Europe though)...

Henrik - thanks!! There really is nothing like Evelyn, is there? What a rose when it's doing well!! I'm glad you can get Evelyn!!

Lovely blooms, Carole Bouquet looks huge and gorgeous , Evelyn looks particularly gorgeous

Thanks, rose_crazy!! That Carole Bouquet was in my house until today. It had a lovely fragrance and expanded quite a bit as it opened. Looked even prettier. I keep wanting to get rid of Evelyn because it doesn't bloom very much...not warm enough I think. But then it gives me flowers like that with the accompanying peachy fragrance that I have to keep it. :)
