Probably the easiest to just set the room up as a nursery...so you only have to move once. Even if you don't use it right away for your baby to sleep in...it can be a nice quiet space to feed your baby, keep clothes, toys, books, ect:) Congrats! Good luck!

I didn't do a bassinet, mini crib, or regular crib. I coslept and breastfed because it was the easiest and I am lazy;)

I never used a bassinet for any of my seven kids. Most of them had their own room and I just got up with them. The last three I put the crib in our room so I could get up more easily. I think bassinets are a waste of money.

My first hated the bassinet, but the second loved it. Truthfully, think about lots of long sleepless nights and the best way to maximize sleep for yourself.
By the third child, I tossed them in bed with us. They slept and nursed when they wanted and everybody slept! And yes; I coslept and breastfed because I am a lazy momma too! :). (I actually told the nurses that when my last baby was born! I am too lazy to get up and warm a bottle in the middle of the night, I was GoinG to breastfeed this baby; quit giving her bottles!)

I was prepared for all options-set up a full nursery with full crib and had a bassinet plus pack in play in our bedroom. My baby is 5 months and she is still sleeping in our room but has outgrown bassinet and is now in pack n play. Our nursery is far from the bedroom and I still don't feel comfortable having her that far away from us. If I had it to do over again, I would have either bought one of those halo bassinets that you can pull up right beside you or skipped the bassinet altogether. I agree with pp that unless you want baby in your room for the first year or so (which I totally understand if you do), then go ahead and set up nursery. Btw you could totally get away with just a pack n play for the first 7 months or so if you want to wait to decide--just know that shopping once you have a baby that can't sit upright is a whole new adventure.
