Big yes to a kitchen island. Looks like you have plenty of space.

What's outside of the door? Something that you need privacy from? Like a neighbor's window? Otherwise, I'd say no.

Hi, outside of the door is our patio & back yard.

Then I would say no. I personally don't like the look of curtains in a kitchen. Plus, they get dirty very quickly and will constantly need washing with all of the air-borne grease (even with using a vent) and potentially smoke and food smells that are in this area.

That kitchen is screaming for an island!

Definitely an island. You have room for a really big one with seating! I'd also replace the light, and add some statement lighting over the island. I really like the paint color! I really wanted that blue-grey color in my new kitchen, and somehow between sample on the wall and full paint, it is more robin egg. I would not put up a curtain. If privacy is a concern, or you just feel the need for a window treatment, I'd probably do a roman shade. I put 3 in my old kitchen that I ordered on Blinds.com and they turned out gorgeous - see windows in pic below. Looks like you're in the new home remodel process like me - good luck!!

Thanks guys! I appreciate the input. Any ideas for home decor?

I would do a fabric roman shade on the window. Look at theshadestore.com They will send you free fabric swatches

You could try roman shades, like in our picture from our design pictured below:

The picture looks stretched so it's hard to tell how much actual space there is. But you should be able to fit a narrow sized island running lengthwise from window side to fridge side. Keep in mind you'll want at least 36" walking clearance around island. Going off the style the kitchen is now I would suggest a butcher block island. If you're putting a dining table where the pendant (should be a larger scale) is you may want to consider seating along the end (fridge end) of the island instead of along the side. You can get away with no window treatments. Adding a natural shade over window can look nice too. I've attached some inspo pics
