Transplanting Japanese iris(Iris ensata)

Can I do them now at this time of the season? I am located in northern NJ. They are in the ground, not in water. But the area I will be transplanting is crater like and makes puddles there. And then after I transplant it, can I apply holly-tone fertilizer on it? Or should I wait until next year

You can move now but wait until spring to apply any fertilizer.

Ok will holly-tone fertilizer do it? Or is there some other special fertilizer for irises

Japanese do like slightly acid conditions. Holly-tone sounds good.
