I went in my backyard the other night and noticed this spider which has a web near the ground on a rectangular planter. During the day it seems it was not there, but I went outside at night the following night it was in the same spot it had been when I previously saw it and I had a chance to take pictures of it. It has a distinct marking on its abdomen, which I think has an orange tone, like a brown widow spider? If it were more red I would say black widow. I would like to know what you think.
