How exciting!

I hope you get some seeds from this sans Chris, it'd be interesting to see what they would produce given the stalk is variegated. I guess this would be called a 'striated' plant? Very nice!!

Russ yes a good chance of getting some variegated seedlings! Wish I had something else to pollinate it with! Btw how did you make out with Mathew Russ?

Chris, it'll be interesting to see if it selfs, maybe you'll get a seedling with higher variegation.

I came out okay with the storm, way less to deal with than I thought I'd have given the wind speeds they said to expect. I think I had gusts of 60 to 70 mph where 70 to 100 was predicted. Big live oaks surrounding my acre plus a 6 foot wall with many 2-story houses on the other side probably helped knock the wind down. A lot of plants to stand back up or pick up and repot, and downed tree limbs, but no damage to the house.

Appreciate more info and pics as your sans and (hopefully) seeds develop.

I don't know but I think the seed pods has to be variegated. Never worked for me on hosta. I think like stem cuttings, most revert to normal. But all don't.

Chris, is the flower stock from the roots or center of crown? Adds to the debate of center stock dying or stopping growth.

Woodnative, did you get a picture of this when it opened?

I was able to easily click and post pics with my old iphone. Just got a newer version. Asked me to sign into houzz etc. but gets me to an odd houzz screen with all kinds of home items. When I go into gardenweb it doesn't seem to recognize me. Anyway, technical difficulties. It did bloom but fairly recently. I half-heartedly hand pollinated a few flowers one weekend day and I think every one I pollinated is forming seed pods. I wish I had something else flowering at the time to cross them!

Chris, I don't know why Houzz would use phone/computer recognition technology, it's an over-use of security given the type of information posted here.

On a side note, I didn't have many sans seeds this year, but right now I do have 45 total seeds on Aglaonema hybrids Silver Frost, Peacock, and Tricolor X Manila, and 8 seeds on a commutatum v. Elegans. This far surpasses any prior year for ag seeds. Ants are the pollinating agents, I guess they were especially active at the end of this year.

Those Ag seeds sound fun Russ! Are you going to grow them and see what you get? BTW are the red Ags very different in care in any way than the more silver hybrids? All those Ags are beautiful plants which I could see being fun to correct. I like some of the very silver ones (though I don't know any cultivar names). There are also two red hybrids showing up fairly regularly now.....the most common one I think is ugly as they have small yellowish dots on the leaves that remind me of a bad spider mite infestation LOL. There is another that looks more to me like a Deifenbachia in variegation but with red instead of white.

OK, odd. I saw a notification in my e-mail that there is a response to that thread. If I go to see the responds (on my phone) it takes me to that thread. I can respond and even post photos (as above). Great. But I can't go to any other threads from that thread. If I go to gardenweb from scratch I can see everything (all the forums and threads) but I cant' respond. It asks me to login (or something similar) but then will not let me login and response. The saga continues. Russ those Ags sound nice and interesting!!

I hope you can get the iPhone difficulties figured out Chris! That kind of stuff drives me nuts with phones and computers. I use a Walmart flip phone to minimize the frustration, computers are bad enough to deal with.

Looks like those seeds have a way to go before they turn red or orange.
