It doesn't look like crown rot to me, although I've never seen it personally. I've only seen pictures and videos. It could be sunburn-I think light that comes from a south facing area is too bright for a phal.

Has there been any new developments on your phal since your post?

Crown rot involves the central area of your plant. As long as those leaves in the plants center, where each new leaf comes from, are green and healthy you do not have crown rot.

i agree with what goldstart has just explained. Find east light for your plant or heavily shaded south light if that's all you have available. Here in S. Texas, I can only use shaded east windows for phals and paphs.

You need to provide a picture from directly above to see into the crown. That is where the rot will be. You show side pics and roots. Nothing to do on topic...

I agree, your plant looks healthy. I bet it is a purple flowered Phal.

No crown rot. I t might need to be repotted. It is not in an orchid pot. Is there any holes in the pot? How long has it been in that pot? The roots do not look happy. It might be because it needs to repot. Maybe.

The only difference is that my pot has holes in the side and it is in bark. I just repotted it.

I am concerned about the roots looking like that, but I think it might be bruising? Re-potting did help make the roots green and vibrant again, but that bruising look is still there. I got the plant like that.
