Nice! I love pole beans. I think the plant is at its prime in September!

I had a similar experience this year, with a purple-podded pole bean I had grown for seed. After all the pods had dried down, the vines dropped their leaves & appeared to be dying. I didn't pay much attention to them after that, since the rural garden was demanding most of my time. To my surprise, all of the vines re-sprouted from the bare stems, and bore a second heavy crop. I've had other beans do that occasionally, but never to this degree... probably due to the nearly continuous rainfall we've had all summer.
