Looks a bit like an unripe lychee fruit. How big is it? What does it look like (and smell like) when cut open?

Not a dogwood :-) Foliage is wrong for that.

Morinda???? (Not something I've ever seen myself.)

Its the size of a plum and i didn't want to open it cause someone said it was poisenous.... dont know if its true but didn't take the risk

Most plants are poisonous only if ingested :-) Shouldn't hurt to cut open.....just don't eat it until you know the ID for sure. Slicing through the center of the fruit and then posting a photo of the cut surface is a very good way to ID fruits. FYI, both the lychee and morinda are edible. The morinda is a very reasonable guess, although they tend to be more misshapen than round as in the photo. And seldom have that creamy pink coloration - more green to whitish cream.

Looks like a dogwood to me too. The leaves are aligned as opposite. The leaf veins all grow to the tip of each leaf.

....Be sure to get a definitive I.D. first, but the fruit of a dogwood tree is edible. I have eaten it with my class during many trips into the field. Strange the locals said it was poisonous.

That is definitely NOT a dogwood!! The leaf veining is entirely wrong for that species. Also kousa dogwood fruit have pimples, not dimples, are the size of about a nickle (or slightly larger) and have long petioles/stem attachments. They should also be bright red at this time of year! Cornus kousa berries.

It does look like one of the evergreen dogwoods to me.

That doesn’t look like a fruit. It appears to be a distorted and swollen leaf, presumably caused by a pest or disease, such as a gall wasp. I’m not familiar with pomegranate problems so that’s all I can suggest.. For future reference, you need to start your own thread if you are introducing a new question. Give your geographical location and include photographs from different angles with something to give a sense of scale.
