Wow, stunning!!! Fingers crossed!

Kim, good luck with them. I think you are the second or third person on this forum to fret over their praetorii buds blasting. Is this plant really that fussy ? Those orange blooms alone make it tempting.

Marco

Thank you Jimmy. And Marco, I got this plant in the spring and it has just been blasting buds like crazy. It was about 4 inches tall when I got it. On one hand, it buds like crazy. I just have not figured out how to make it happy enough to bloom.

Jimmy, do you know what pH I should aim for?

Also, I have taken to holding my breath when I am anywere near this thing, and eying it with suspicion through out the day. One under developed bud on this peduncle fell off a couple days ago, not a great sign.

My fertilizer solution pH is right around 6 before i water it in. The pH of my tap water is 8.5 after 24 hours of sitting out, so the Maxsea brings it down quite a bit. This one def. doesn't like hard water, nor Growstones, because of the lime content.

Jimmy, What kind of soil mix are you using on this one?

I had it originally in grow-stones when i first got it and almost killed it.pH way too high with my hard tap water and caused severe chlorosis of the leaves. Now it is in a 6 inch self watering pot with a mix of just about everything, mostly fir bark chips, coco chips ,clay balls,bio-char and coir. There are still some grow-stones in the mix,but not that many. What has really helped it was the Maxsea and the microbes i water in once a month.I also use humic acid a few times a year .The microbes really seem to like this...promotes a more rich soil without the humus...lol. check out the new laves after the replant.

Jimmy, thanks for that info. Very helpful! Aurorawa, sorry your buds blasted. Good thing they bud frequently, hopefully next time!

Mine are still going strong, one bud blasted but the rest seem ok.
