can you post pics of different angles? maybe island pendants, under cabinet lighting? are you doing reno now? you have several holes in ceiling?

You have dark cabinet, dark countertop, dark appliances, dark backsplash - at least in this pic - and also dark wall paint.

The easiest first thing to try is lighter wall paint. After that work on the least expensive or if you have dollars to spare, whatever you like the least.

Paint the walls light and replace your backsplash with a lighter/white one.

I would fix the layout and get new cabinets. The angled sink isn't very functional

This is a no brainer paint the cabinets better yet have them painted by a pro and get a counter depth fridge as for LEDs do not go bigger pots the bulbs just need to be higher wattage

The brown walls and black appliances are sucking the color out of it. Change the wall color and remove the black sign first and proeed from there. It's easy to sell appliances so you could replace with SS if that's in the budget. Tha very last thing I'd do is mess with the cabinets unless the budget allows a complete reno.

Look for pro cabinet painters in your area they need references and a spray booth set up
