    This sink is cut from one solid block of natural lava rock, however some call it basalt. Thank You.

    How does it wear, stain, scratch compared to the black granite and is the lava polished or dull finish?

    There may be some sealing needed every 2-3 years, as there are small holes filled as with all lava and travertine. It is a tough stone and I would not expect it to scratch, any stains can be easily removed with common bleach. Black granite requires no maintenance and is very hard. Our black granite and lava sinks are honed which provides a matt finish. Hope that helps. Greg
