Need art work for dining room!

Open wall space is 4'H X 14'6"W. Because of the doorway the center of wall is not the center of the table. Not sure how to arrange and not sure what type of wall art to use.

Contemporary artwork would be beautiful in this space. I have attached an image of my work in a dining room below. I am thinking for that wall however that (3)36x36in works of art would look stunning on that wall! Cityscapes or floaral! If you would like custom work for this space please feel free to email me at recycledheartfineart@gmail.com and I look forward to speaking with you!

Love something for large wall in this kitchen art work

Yes, I was leaning more towards a muted landscape grouping or black framed abstract in set of 3 or 4. Just can't find anything that knocks my socks off!

Agree with the mirror idea. You have a lovely home April.

I agree that I would add mirrors instead of art. Mirrors will reflect the light beautifully and your paneling is to high for art.

Gonna have to disagree. Mirrors usually look cold and uninteresting. For interest and color art is the right choice. Even framed maps

Your home is beautiful. A beautiful neutral backdrop for some fabulous, colorful art.

Your dining room is beautiful! Love the addition of the rug-I remember seeing this dilemma several weeks ago, I think.

As far as the wall, I really don't think you need anything but have you considered either wallpapering or painting the ceiling tray to add interest? A metallic in a neutral color would be stunning. Just a thought.

I have thought of painting the ceiling black, but not wallpapering it. Interesting idea. Thanks!

I'd go with three prints, smaller than in the mock-up that REcycledArt did above, and centered over the three panels that line up with the table. You'll never feel quite right if you center them on the wall.

The 24x24x1.5in I mentioned to you would be smaller then the ones in the mockup before and I feel you would be very pleased with.

Hi Tina, you can start/create your own dilemma. You will get more suggestions and ideas that way.

Hi April, these might look interesting. You can order them in various sizes & you could always place them in a black frame if you wanted.

Hello April. I love the idea of painting your tray ceiling a dark color, perhaps a dark charcoal grey. I love Karen's idea of using wallpaper on the ceiling too. Karen has a gorgeous dining room and she wallpapered her tray ceiling and it looks beautiful !

Your new rug looks stunning by the way. :) I think I would like to see you add more deep charcoal greys in this room. I added a banquette and painted the ceiling a darker color in my renderings just to see and I personally love it. I don't think you need a lot on the walls. I think a simple contemporary botanical series of art or even a collection of china plates would add some really nice visual interest.

I am going to post a picture of a dining room that one of my favourite Canadian designers Jane Lockhart designed where she decorated the wall with china plates. I love it. :) I love the deep color on the on the walls. I think your dining room would look stunning as well with a darker color on the walls too. Just throwing some ideas out there. :)

Beautiful rendering, Mark and thanks for the compliment. I do love the ceiling treatment in my dining room. The dark ceiling in April's space really looks gorgeous.

April, your home is so pretty...I love how your new rug makes all those different shades of khaki stand out. What a nice balance of color. Agree adding more shades of charcoal could be the way to go.

The botanical series are a really nice touch and are just enough on that back wall. Can't wait to see what you do next.

Mark, I love the botanical prints. Can you give me info on them? I will start with them, then work around painting. I love your input and style. I also liked the art you posted in initial inquiry on rug. Can you also give me info on that as well? Thanks !

Love the suggestion of painting your ceiling. My dining room ceiling is painted a dark eggplant. It's very dramatic in the evening when the chandelier is glowing :)

Hello April. The botanical art that I used in my rendering are not that large but here is the link. I used them in the rendering to give you an idea of the kind of art that I thought would look good in your dining room so I made them larger in the rendering. If I find anything that is similar I will post them here.

Maybe including a few images of our designs will help you figure out what you'd like in your own dining room. Wallpaper might work well here, or maybe a buffet with a mirror and lamps?
