It's time for tea

Today I met a good friend for lunch. I had iced tea and a shrimp/artichoke wrap.

We ate outside! I wore a t-shirt! Here is my NYC suburb, it is in the upper 70's.

Where did or will you be having your "tea"?

I spent $382. Tires and two oil changes. Warned that I'll need a new battery in the truck and brakes on the car. Wasted the whole day. Well, I did get the "leftovers" put away from all the cleaning I've been doing.

But it was a nice day; sun and wind but no rain.

Tea was lunch at O'Charley's yesterday with Mom & Dad. Prices seemed rather high for lunch, but yowza, so much food! Plus our server gave us extra rolls at the table and more in a bag to take home. Dad and I had leftovers for dinner, and there are still 3 servings left for today. Froze some of the extra rolls. Dividing the check by the number of meals we got out of it...we wouldn't have made out as well at McDonald's. :)

Today's brunch however was at McD's - with bogo coupon for an egg Mcmuffin.

Hopefully last medical appointment for Mom tomorrow, parents are scheduled to leave for FL next week. They are eager to go before it gets cold here.

Hello! I guess I'm a day late and a dollar short for teatime. I spend all day yesterday unsnarling some of the MIL's paperwork to help out the husband.

I'm not setting the world on fire today, but I hope to get a framed print hung over my writing desk, and more paperwork put away.

    We'll see!

Murray's Mom - I haven't forgotten you! If the stars line up correctly, I'll have your shamrock plugs ready to put in the mail in the morning. I've kept hoping to have them ready to mail on a Monday, but my weekends are just far too stressful to get anything "fun" accomplished.

Get a 6" pot, with drainage holes ready with some loose, fertile potting soil and you can simply poke them in once they arrive. I'd loosely cover the planted pot with a plastic bag at night and keep the plugs slightly damp until you see new growth.

I'll let you know once they are actually at the post office here.

Oooh doggies!! Thank you, Caroline!! I will look forward to getting that! I'm sure I have what I need here to make a nice home for them. If I can do anything for you, please let me know. :)

OOPS I kind if missed Tuesday and now Wednesday is almost over I am clueless what happened on Tuesday. It is how my days go around here. I do know I started pulling down the morning glories in front yesterday. As for the rest of the day. Well who knows. I also remember it rained most of the day.

Today I put the new little shredder together and it works pretty well as long as I am only doing small stuff. This will really help with the hollyhocks. Not the flower tops of them though. They want to plug is. I ground up about 1/4 of what was on the trailer. The mulch is so needed in my yard. Pulled down more morning glories today too and more paperwork. And more paper work tomorrow too with appointment down in town so I will pick up another load of pavers while I am there and then only one more load needed and the east side of the house path will be done. Happy about this. Might manage it all before winter.

Table did not arrive today and I do not have any idea when it will be coming now. I will let them know I will be gone tomorrow afternoon. Would have been a good day to deliver with no rain.

Eld it sounds like you get to go to delightful places to eat. Avocado and shrimp wraps sound amazing.

ImHappy sorry about all the expense on non fun things.

Caroline you and me both on the paper work. Seems endless. Just when I think it is all sorted some thing else throws a wrench in the works.

Llucy what a deal for your meal. Yum yum yum. I do miss being able to eat rolls.

Murrays Mom Enjoy your shamrocks. They are a fun plant. I have not had any for years but I did buy a couple of asparagus ferns last week for my hanging pots. Also someone bought a big head of garlic on our trip and it ended up home with me so I am going to poke the cloves into the garden. Better remember to do that tomorrow before the soil freezes. I LOVE fresh garlic.

Intended to join you for tea yesterday, but the fates had other plans. Started day at 8AM (I am NOT an early riser!) dentist app't. Three hours later, I was finally finished...for this time - two more appt's to go. Then back to the Army Reserve Center to again try to renew my expired Military ID which I need for my supplementary-to-Medicare health insurance for doctor's app't today.

Last week, I followed online instructions and called ahead. Found out their "machine" was down and they were awaiting a new one - call next week. So on Mon I again called - yes, new machine was there and they were making ID cards. I asked if they were still in the same location - oh yes, "right where we've always been". Drove there (some distance from my house), no cars in lot, sign on door that they moved in Aug 2015! Called and got the same woman - oh, so sorry - we're where we've been since I started working her 6 months ago. Yikes! These cards are good for 5 years so how would I have known! Asked where they were - right next to driver's license place about half way home. I went there - no such bldg. Called again - told that it was "more or less" next to it but I needed to use a different entrance. Went where she told me - can't get there that way. I did know how to get there as it was where my daughter had done her Army Reserve drills 14 years ago - I used to pick up her baby and take him there to nurse twice a day while she did her Reserve weekend.

Got to the place (it was now 30 minutes until closing time - all this had taken an hour). Door was locked with a sign to call the office. No answer. Finally, I saw someone in the hall - he let me inside. Went down to ID office. Waited with another man. He got his quite quickly. I went in at 3:45 and left 45 minutes later with no ID and my expired one confiscated. The scanner could not match my last finger print and the person who could over-ride the machine was off that day. Grrrr...

So after dentist, back to ID office. The man was leaving in 15 minutes and wouldn't be back but she convinced him to come and do the over-ride. Hallelujah! Got my card!

Home to let out dogs and grab a quick lunch. Then to afternoon pulmonary rehab (I usually go in the AM). Worked out for 35 minutes, left, came home, had a soak in a hot tub and then took a 2 hr nap. I could barely make myself get up for dinner, but two dogs were awaiting theres!

Today, nearly as bad. It's supposed to rain all day tomorrow and a cold front finally come through (88 today). I'm skipping rehab and having a "Sloth Day" and sleeping in. Sounds as good as a cup of tea, no?
